CAMDEN, N.C. — Several departments in the region responded to a blaze late Thursday – at a Camden County fire station.
Firefighters arrived on the scene just before 10 p.m. to find flames within the truck bay at a station on Sawyers Creek Road, said Christy Saunders, emergency management coordinator for Camden and Pasquotank counties.
Investigators are looking into how the fire started and how much damage it caused, she said. An ambulance and a truck used for extinguishing brush fires were badly burned, Saunders said. The five firefighting trucks based there were not damaged, she said.
No injuries were reported. The station was manned during the day only by emergency medical services.
