PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Paramedic Kathryn Morgan had just gotten to the station when she was dispatched for multiple stabbings at Franklin Regional High School.
“You never know what to expect,” she told WPXI.com.
Morgan arrived at the school to find a panicked scene with victims in the hallways and in classrooms.
“The pictures are going to be in your head forever,” she said. “Sometimes it’s the smells or noises that will make you remember what you’ve seen and been through.”
She began treating those with the most severe injuries.
“You just have to stay calm and just be a steady voice,” she said. “And just talk to them about things other than what is naturally going on, to try to keep their mind off it and keep them talking.”
