Trooper saves 5-year-old girl from fiery crash

The motorhome the girl was in caught on fire after running into the back of a trailer; the girl’s grandmother and father were killed in the crash

LINN COUNTY, Ore. — An Oregon state trooper rescued a five-year-old girl from a deadly car crash after the motorhome she was in ran into the back of a tractor-trailer and caught on fire.

KATU.com reported the crash had not been reported when the trooper drove past and saw the accident on the shoulder. When the trooper stopped, he heard the girl screaming for help from the wreckage. He then used a fire extinguisher so he could reach the girl.

Two Good Samaritans stopped at the scene to help the trooper pull the girl out of the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

The girl’s 69-year-old grandmother, who was driving the RV, and her 26-year-old father were killed in the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured and wasn’t cited in the crash.
