COLUMBUS, Ga. — Family and friends remembered paramedic Pam Boles, who died this weekend after suffering a cardiac arrest and a stroke.
Boles, 44, had been an award-winning paramedic for 12 years and a school teacher before that, WRBL reported.
Hilah Smith was friends with Boles and attended EMT and paramedic school with her.
“She was one of those paramedics that you would definitely want to work on one of your family members. She was very patient oriented. Very compassionate,” she said.
Boles’ husband, Rodney, was also a paramedic. One of his colleagues, Dennis Poole, said there’s no way to prepare for the death of a loved one, even if your job entails seeing “life and death every day.”
