NEW YORK — An unidentified man died after being struck by a National Guard convoy vehicle Tuesday.
The 82-year-old was reportedly crossing the street when the convoy was driving down the Chinatown street to make a light, according to the Gothamist.
Other witnesses via Twitter and Facebook said the National Guard Unit is from Ohio, with one of the soldiers a firefighter.
The Daily News reported that the 22-year-old driver was part of a six-vehicle line making Sandy supply deliveries.
Paramedics and the soldiers immediately went to aid the man and to perform CPR but he was later declared dead.
