DARLINGTON, S.C. — The Darlington County coroner is investigating the death of an EMS worker who died in the back of an ambulance after transporting a patient.
The workers partner attempted life-saving efforts, but was not successful, WBTW.com reports.
The incident occurred Tuesday after workers with Chesterfield EMS ambulance service FirstHealth took a patient from Chesterfield General to McLeod Hospital in Florence County. They were on their way back to Chesterfield County, when one of the two EMS workers had a medical difficulty,” Coroner Todd Hardee said.
The name or position of the worker who died has not been released yet.
