WASHINGTON — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have announced a funding opportunity as part of the Emergency Triage, Treat and Transport (ET3) Model.

CMS plans to fund state and local governments that operate or have authority over a 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) to establish or expand medical triage lines aimed at reducing inappropriate use of emergency ambulance services and increase efficiency in EMS systems, according to a CMS statement.

Applications for the funding opportunity are due May 11, 2021; applicants must share at least one ZIP code with the ambulance providers that are participants in the ET3 model. The final list of participants was posted on the CMS website Friday.
