MADISON COUNTY — EMT Bill Vineall, owner of Vineall Ambulance and the mayor of Sherrill, told The Oneida Daily Dispatch that first response ambulance crews trying to provide medical care to someone high on bath salts is ‘total chaos.’
Vineall’s crews have wrestled with individuals to treat them and have broken up fights between users and others on the scene.
Because the drug is so new, the ingredients change rapidly and there are still no field test kits for the drug, EMT’s now have to be trained on how to recognize the symptoms, how to deal with and treat bath salt users.
