My name is Jules Scadden and I am the route coordinator for the West Coast Ride which will end with a closing Ceremony, honoring EMS providers who have died in LODD on September 26, 2012 in Sacramento, CA.
The National EMS Memorial Bike Ride began in 2000 with a group of individuals in Boston who wanted to bring recognition and remembrance to their fallen brethren. The mission of the “Muddy Angels” is to “honors Emergency Medical Services personnel by organizing and implementing long distance cycling events that memorialize and celebrate the lives of those who serve every day, those who have become sick or injured while performing their duties, and those who have died in the line of duty.” The National EMS Memorial Bike Ride events are able to fulfill that mission only through the help and support of numerous organizations, our partners in public safety and local and state officials in the states and areas the ride travels through.
The NEMSMBR has conducted this ride on the East Coast, Colorado, Kentucky and Louisiana. We are honored to bring this event to the West. There will be more information coming out over the next few weeks and we will be seeking assistance in contacting municipalities, EMS Services, Fire Services, Law Enforcement as well as family members and communities that would like to be involved and/or participate in this important event—honoring those we have lost--throughout the Western United States. We thank you in advance for any support and assistance you can provide.
