OMAHA, Neb. — Emergency rooms in Omaha are reporting a jump in activity from injuries sustained by people cleaning up from recent storms.
Creighton Medical Center in Omaha reports more than 50 people were hurt cleaning up after the storm.
Most were treated for bumps and bruises, but seven were taken to the trauma center with head, neck, and internal injuries. At least one patient there died from his injuries, but no details about the man or the nature of his injuries have been released.
Doctors at Methodist hospital have treated more than 40 patients for cuts and broken bones suffered mostly by those who had been cutting tree branches.
Alegent Health and Nebraska Medical Center officials say they have treated a handful of cleanup related injuries.
