COLE COUNTY, Mo. — “He was one of those willing to help and did the jobs no one else wanted to do. His heart was in the right place.”

Those were the thoughts of Kevin Wieberg, captain of the Cole County First Responders, as he talked about fellow first responder Willie Livingston, 33, Russellville, who died last week while helping on a medical call.

Monday, emergency officials throughout the county saluted Livingston during his funeral.

According to Wieberg, the incident happened around 1 a.m. on Nov. 28 when Livingston went on a medical call.

“He helped a patient, and after getting them taken care of he started experiencing shortness of breath and began going into cardiac arrest,” Wieberg said. “He eventually passed away that evening.”
