AMMAN, Jordan — Switzerland is supplying Jordan with 143 fully equipped paramedic ambulances, funded by grants and loans, the Swiss embassy in Amman said on Monday. The first batch of 30 ambulances were handed over to the Jordanian authorities on Monday, the embassy said in a statement.
“Switzerland and Jordan have a long history of collaboration on disaster preparedness, including the field of emergency response healthcare,” the embassy said. The fleet will allow every health centre in the Kingdom to have at least one fully equipped modern ambulance, the statement added. Thirteen specially equipped ambulances will be delivered to serve refugee camps and areas with narrow streets.
