Sheriff’s deputy hurt in collision with ambulance responding to same scene

The deputy was checked out as a precaution; no one else was injured

PLAQUEMINE, La. — An Iberville sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries Tuesday evening after his vehicle and an ambulance crashed at an intersection in Plaquemine, both responding to the same incident, said Louisiana State Police spokesman Master Trooper Byran Lee.

The vehicles collided at Stassi Road and LA 75, Lee said. The deputy was checked out as a precaution, but is OK, Lee said. No one else was injured.

Lee did not know what the initial call was for that brought both the ambulance and deputy to the scene.
