A Perry County EMT worker was hurt just before noon Monday after the ambulance she was riding in collided with a truck.
The accident happened on Midland Avenue near Winchester Road. The Perry County ambulance was transporting a patient who was not in a life-threatening situation to Central Baptist Hospital from Hazard. Police say a black truck was waiting to turn left onto East Second Street when another truck rear-ended it, sending it into the path of the ambulance.
In all, three people were taken to the hospital - the patient in the back of the ambulance, the EMT worker who was in the back with her and the driver of the black truck. Police say the EMT worker hurt her head as she was slammed against the ambulance door during impact.
