MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — A Mountain Home ambulance service won a national award recognizing the level of care it provides to the community.

Baxter Regional Medical Center’s ambulance service was named the 2007 EMT-Paramedic Emergency Medical Service of the Year, marking the first time an Arkansas emergency medical service won the award. The ambulance service was chosen out of 150 applicants across the nation.

The award is given by EMS Magazine and the National Association of EMTs and will be presented at the annual Emergency Medical Service Expo in Orlando, Fla., in October.
