CHARLESTOWN, Mass. — A 9-year-old boy is in treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital after his heart stopped during a pickup baseball game.
Paramedics with Boston EMS were called to Ryan Playground in Charlestown around 3 p.m. Sunday. The caller reported a 9-year-old boy was hit in the chest by a line drive on the pitcher’s mound.
He was found by paramedics without a pulse, Deputy Superintendent of Boston EMS Ed Hassan told the Boston Globe, and was revived with a defibrillator, CPR, a breathing tube and medication.
“He was dead and we brought him back to life,” Hassan told the Globe.
