EUREKA, Calif. — Eureka Police Department officers responded Thursday morning to a report of a naked man who had “crawled” through a business near the 1400 block of Broadway, a press release said.

Officers located Timothy Edward Hansen, 42, as he was doing “backward somersaults and talking nonsensically,” the release said. Hansen showed signs of drug influence, and became combative with the officers. The press release said a short altercation took place, which left the officers involved with minor bumps and abrasions. The subject continued to talk nonsensically and defecate on the officers, the release said.

Hansen was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence, and resisting and assaulting a police officer. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital’s emergency room for treatment due to the possibility he had ingested a high dosage of meth.
