SEA CLIFF, N.Y. — A 14-year-old’s tip to a national anti-abuse tip line last month led to the arrest yesterday morning of an FDNY paramedic who lives in Sea Cliff on charges that include promoting a child’s sexual performance, Nassau police said.

The man, Ronald Stein, 45, is said to have propositioned the teen on the Internet to arrange an in-person liaison, Officer Jean DeLuca, a police spokeswoman, said in a statement.

After the teen complained to the tip line, at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, police gathered enough information to search Stein’s Franklin Avenue home with a warrant, police said.

Stein is to be arraigned today at First District Court on 11 counts related to acts harmful to a child. He could not be immediately reached for comment.

DeLuca would not say where on the Internet the teen and Stein allegedly met.
