Contact Congressional Offices and ask them to join the EMS Caucus

Advocates for EMS members have been working to form a Congressional EMS Caucus to help advance support for legislation and funding for EMS providers in Congress. We were successful in securing three Members of Congress to serve as Co-Chairs of the EMS Caucus, Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD), Congressman Charles Boustany (R-LA) and Congressman Tim Walz (D-MN).

The EMS Caucus Co-Chairs have circulated a Dear Colleague asking other members of the House of Representatives to join the Caucus. We now need all Advocates for EMS members, both organizational and individual, to contact your Members of Congress and ask them to join the Caucus.

How can you help? Below is a copy of the Dear Colleague that is circulating throughout the House of Representatives. Reach out to your Members of Congress today and ask them to support EMS providers and join the EMS Caucus! You may contact their offices by emailing the Health Care Legislative Assistant (Health LA) or calling the office and speaking directly with the Health LA.

A wide range of committees in the House of Representatives have jurisdiction over EMS issues, including the Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, Homeland Security, Transportation and Infrastructure, Judiciary, among others. To form a more collective and cohesive message on EMS issues and to support a key component of first responders we are asking Members of Congress to join the EMS Caucus. Act today!
