CLINTON, Tenn. — Their job is helping people, but often instead of thanks, paramedics face danger. If that happens to be a physically violent person soon they’ll know how to protect themselves. It’s thanks to a new training program that’s a first for Tennessee.
Punching, kicking and scratching happens to emergency responders more than you might think. When tensions are flaring and people are scared, EMS workers encounter hostile environments often.
At first glance, it looks like a martial arts class, but it’s actually paramedics learning how to protect themselves.
