CAMDEN, Tenn. — Camden residents got a huge surprise during a fundraiser for local injured paramedic, Danny Hooten, when Hooten showed up at the fundraiser!
Hooten was injured in July after a tree fell on him and paralyzed him. He was a paramedic for more than 30 years. To help with the hospital bills, Camden residents stepped up to the plate, literally, to help raise money. Nearly 1,000 people came together to put on a softball tournament, where proceeds were given to Hooten.
Hooten has been in the hospital for more than a month, and made an appearance at the event. His daughter says he was so moved by the huge crowd to support him that he was brought to tears.
