FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A part-time paramedic was arrested on a drug felony charge for attempting to sell cocaine to undercover officers.
Yusuf Abdullah, 45, of Palm Coast, was the target of a weeklong narcotics investigation, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. Pending the outcome of the case, he was suspended without pay from his job as a part-time paramedic at the Flagler County Detention Facility, where he’s worked since 2005 providing medication and routine medical exams to inmates.
Abdullah also used to work as a Daytona Beach firefighter, WESH.com reports.
Investigators at the Flagler County Sheriff’s Department arranged to purchase 2 grams of powder cocaine from Abdullah, and he was charged with selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a convenience store.
He’s been released on $50,000 bail.
