NOWATA, Okla. — An Oklahoma paramedic died on Monday following a battle with COVID-19.
Nowata Fire & EMS announced the death of Paramedic Cole Brooks in a Facebook post, saying, “Sometimes he was a lil gruff... but he ALWAYS had the patients best interest at Heart! He loved his job and he loved helping others.”
Brooks served with Nowata Fire & EMS for eight-and-a-half years, having joined the agency in August of 2012. According to a previous post shared by the department, Brooks had been battling the virus since mid-December.
“Anyone that ever met him, knew he was about as honest and noble as any man could be,” Nowata Fire & EMS officials wrote Monday. “He always had a smile and good story to tell. He loved his family and he loved the Lord!”
