MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Paramedics of the Skagit County Paramedics Association IAFF Local 3427 are building a wheelchair-accessible ramp for a local citizen who was recently diagnosed with a lung disease and unexpected medical bills.
When the paramedics heard that a member of their community needed help, they decided to provide labor and materials free of charge.
“Our 35 professional Paramedics are committed to helping those in need in our community through high quality advanced life support services, as well as lending a helping hand to community members in a time of need,” said Reece Williams, a Skagit County paramedic.
The group of medics organized a two-day benevolence project to help the woman access her home and enjoy the comfort of her back garden.
The Skagit County Paramedics of Central Skagit Medic One provide emergency medical services to the citizens of central Skagit. The EMS service has been supported by a county EMS levy for over 25 years.
