Responders seek bone marrow match for fellow EMT

They organized a bone marrow drive after EMT and volunteer firefighter Will Frawley, 28, was diagnosed with a type of cancer

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. —EMT Will Frawley doesn’t have to fight for his life alone.

When the 28-year-old volunteer firefighter and Hamilton County EMT was recently diagnosed with, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, his fellow responders have come together to help him find a bone marrow match.

WRCB reports that after getting tested themselves at Blood Assurance, they’ve organized a bone marrow drive to raise public awareness about his need for a transplant.

The process takes about half an hour, and involves paperwork and a mouth swab test.
