HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. —EMT Will Frawley doesn’t have to fight for his life alone.
When the 28-year-old volunteer firefighter and Hamilton County EMT was recently diagnosed with, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, his fellow responders have come together to help him find a bone marrow match.
WRCB reports that after getting tested themselves at Blood Assurance, they’ve organized a bone marrow drive to raise public awareness about his need for a transplant.
The process takes about half an hour, and involves paperwork and a mouth swab test.
It will be held May 20 during National EMS Week. For more information contact Mike Garren at (423)421-7333 or Rhonda Moore at (423) 827-7167.
