BAYONNE, N.J. — Some Avenue A residents who were upset when a traffic light was removed nearly a year ago are even angrier now after a car crash killed a popular EMT.

Dennis Sharkey and Lucia Frazier said ever since the light at Avenue A and Fourth Street was removed last Feb. 14, motorists have been speeding through the area.

“It has turned Avenue A into a speedway,” Sharkey said. “The cars speed by here, especially at night time.”
