NEW QUAY, Wales — An 8-year-old boy rescued five people from the same stretch of coastline in just two days.

New York Post reported that Steffan Williams was kayaking when he saw three people, an elderly woman and two teenagers, stranded on a rock, so he towed them back to shore with his rubber dinghy. They gave him a $10 reward for his heroic efforts.

“They were really grateful, I haven’t spent it yet,” Williams said. “The tide was going out but it wasn’t going out a lot so I just went over and took them back, one at a time.”

Two days later, he saw two teenagers stuck in the same place, trying to catch his attention.

Williams’ mom, Kate, insisted they call his dad, who is part of the lifeguard team. The teens were then rescued on a lifeboat.

“The second time I was at the pier and I saw a ball floating out to sea,” Williams said. “I heard whistling and looked back to the beach. I looked on the rocks and saw them and paddled to the rocks. They were just going back to the campsite and they got trapped by the tide.”

Williams’ goal is to join his dad on the lifeguard crew when he turns 17. Until then, he sells handmade candles in jars filled with seashells to raise money for the crew.
