Longtime Ind. FF, former chief and EMT dies of leukemia

OSGOOD, Ind. — Craig Simon, a longtime firefighter, former chief and EMT, died Tuesday of complications from leukemia, Eagle Country 99.3 WSCH FM reported.

Simon, 40, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2017.

“Craig was a “gold badge” life member of our department, having served the community for over 20 years in various roles, including a period of time as chief. Craig was involved with numerous projects within our organization during his time with us, including playing a major role in the build of our new brush truck several years ago,” the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook.

A benefit for Simon was held on Sunday. He is survived by his wife and children.
