CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — Katelyn Norman has died just days after her bucket list prom took place. Norman, who was 14, passed away of bone cancer on Friday.
Katelyn’s bucket list inspired supporters from all over the country when a special prom was held for her on Tuesday night. Initially she was supposed to attend, but she was admitted to the hospital that day with breathing problems. The teen fought against an aggressive bone cancer for two years, but she was told last week that the cancer had spread and there wasn’t much that doctors could do.
Katelyn made her bucket list after finding out. That list included prom, a last slow dance, learning to drive, spending a days with each of her siblings, and seeing Italy. But the bucket list plans started falling through when the teen was admitted to the hospital. Doctors told her she couldn’t go, so her friends took the prom to her.
