Procedures were followed in Rosenbaum case, fire chief says

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Firefighters and paramedics responded appropriately to the call to assist David Rosenbaum, the District’s fire chief said. The New York Times reporter was attacked in a robbery last week and later died of his injuries.

Fire and EMS Chief Adrian Thompson released a statement Wednesday night after reviewing the response to the attack on Rosenbaum Friday night in the 3600 block of Gramercy Street Northwest near his home.

Thompson said a fire engine and an ambulance were dispatched when the call for help came at 9:30 p.m. He said the ambulance, six miles away at Providence Hospital, was the closest one available. The ambulance arrived at the scene 23 minutes after the call.
