SASKATOON, Saskatchewan, Canada — Saskatoon paramedics say violence on the job is forcing them to take extra steps to protect themselves.
Last week, paramedics started wearing bullet-proof vests.
“There’s been lots of instances where we’ve had paramedics assaulted physically. We’ve had guns pulled on us in the past, knives, needles,” said Troy Davies, a paramedic with M-D Ambulance in Saskatoon.
