Baltimore, Md. — The family of an elderly Baltimore woman who died shortly after being transported by two ambulance technicians have filed a lawsuit against the company.

78-year-old Annie Mae Simms, a double amputee, died last October while she being transported from a dialysis center to the elderly care facility where she lived. According to a police report obtained by Eyewitness News, ambulance technicians were moving Simms on a gurney that hit a bump and flipped over, tossing Simms onto the cement.

Simms arrived at Sinai Hospital with severe hemorrhaging and a contusion on the front of her head, according to a hospital document. Simms later underwent neurosurgery and died a few days after the incident.
