NORTHWICH, England — A video of a parking attendant trying to give an on-call paramedic a parking ticket while she stopped to get water has gone viral.
Metro reported that the video shows the attendant arguing with Ian French, who was filming the incident, about whether or not the paramedic was on call while she stopped at a convenient store to grab a bottle of water during a 12-hour shift.
“So you’re giving a ticket to an ambulance that’s on call?” French can be heard asking the attendant.
“It’s not on call, she was having lunch. Where are the sirens?” the attendant responds.
The paramedic can then be heard explaining that she cannot park the ambulance into a regular space in the parking lot, and the attendant tells her to park in a handicapped spot.
“I’ve been on since half 6 this morning and I would like to go to Tesco to get some water,” the paramedic says.
“That’s fine, but not on a double yellow,” the attendant responds.
The paramedic ended up leaving without purchasing anything.
