NASHVILLE — Heading home for the holidays can be especially tough for people who are sick or disabled, so a local ambulance service set out during Christmas to fix that.
Lifeguard Ambulance picked up East Tennesseans from medical centers across the region to take them to the homes of their loved ones. Lifeguard EMT Tonia Thomas said it’s a rewarding cause.
“I mean there’s nothing like being able to bring someone home for Christmas who doesn’t get to see them everyday,” Thomas said.
