LITTLE FERRY, N.J. — A Moonachie EMS supply van and four other vehicles were involved in an accident Monday afternoon that sent eight people to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
A pickup truck and three sedans were also damaged in the 1:20 p.m. incident that occurred when two cars ran a red light at Grand Street and Route 46, police said. The incident shut down Route 46 for nearly two hours.
Police were interviewing the injured people at Hackensack University Medical Center late Monday, and declined to release their names. Police wouldn’t say whether the EMS supply van was heading to another emergency when it was involved in the accident. Those vans normally carry water and medical supplies, police said.
Moonachie police declined comment.
