KETTERING, Ohio — Four people were taken to hospitals from two crashes involving Kettering emergency vehicles that shut down Stroop and Far Hills avenues Wednesday.

Kettering police and fire personnel responded to one crash involving a medic unit just west of the intersection at approximately 3:50 p.m. The squad was en route to the hospital carrying a patient when it was struck by a silver sedan.

Ron Roberts, Kettering public information officer, said the two paramedics and the sedan’s driver were taken to the hospital. A police sport utility vehicle and a fire engine responded to that crash and were blocking traffic when the second crash occurred.
