EMSA is updating ambulances with new patient loading and restraint systems.
The $1 million upgrade of the fleet should be complete by next month.
The new equipment is designed to prevent the patient cot from coming unattached in the event the ambulance crashed or rolled over. The new system is motorized so paramedics don’t have to lift and load the cots into the back of the ambulance.
