BOYD COUNTY, Ky. — An EMS provider was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday morning after an ambulance rollover crash, WSAZ reported.

The Boyd County Sheriff’s Office said that a NetCare ambulance carrying a patient rolled over in a single-vehicle wreck along U.S. 23.

The patient and the two EMS providers were not hurt.

Deputies said Patrick Todd Jarrell, 38, first said that a deer ran in front of the ambulance but kept changing his story. After conducting a field sobriety test, deputies arrested Jarrell.

An investigation is ongoing.
