2 Houston EMTs, 2 patients hurt in ambulance hit-and-run

The crash occurred when a driver failed to yield, and then jumped out of the car and fled from the scene

HOUSTON — Two EMTs and two patients were injured when a driver hit an ambulance and fled from the scene.

Click2Houston reported that the ambulance was transporting two patients with its lights and sirens on when the crash occurred.

Officials said the driver of the other vehicle failed to yield to the ambulance, and jumped out of the car afterward, fleeing the scene.

The EMTs and patients were transported to the hospital after the crash.

Witnesses said they were able to take photos of the driver before he fled, according to officials.

The crash is currently under investigation.
