CLARE COUNTY, Mich. — A Manton man who crashed his truck into an ambulance on Thursday was hospitalized, but the paramedics and a patient being transported by the crew escaped injury, police said.
The driver of a 2001 Ford pickup truck was traveling west on M-115 when he crossed the center line and hit the ambulance head-on at 4:42 p.m. Thursday, March 24, state police troopers said. The accident, near Lake Station Avenue, closed the state highway in both directions for several hours.
Police did not say what caused the Manton man, a 49-year-old whose name was not released, to lose control of his truck. He was taken for treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening at a hospital in Cadillac.
