MOORPARK, Calif. — A motorist was killed after their car collided with an ambulance in California on Tuesday night.
The crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. in Moorpark, according to KTLA. California Highway Patrol Officer Casey Oppelt said it appears the car veered in front of the ambulance at the time of the collision.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. An ambulance crewmember who was driving the rig at the time of the crash was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
An investigation is underway to determine what might have caused the car to swerve into the ambulance’s path.
