1 dead, 3 injured in Okla. medical helicopter crash

Of the three people who were injured, two are being treated at a hospital and the other is in critical condition

LATIMER COUNTY, Okla. — One person was killed and three were injured Tuesday night when a medical helicopter crashed.

5News reported that police, firefighters and emergency crews responded to the scene of the helicopter crash at about 6:30 p.m.

Of the three people who were injured, two are being treated at a hospital and the other passenger was sent to a trauma center in critical condition, according to the report.

There were four people on-board the helicopter at the time of the crash, according to the report.

“We did have one confirmed fatality we have the FAA notified and the medical examiners office notified with the situation and we did go into disaster mode,” said David Whatron, Deputy Public Information Officer for the Choctaw Nation Health Center.

The helicopter was on its way to Tulsa and a hazardous materials team was called to clean up the fuel spill from the wreck, according to the report.
