BADEN, Pa. — A Medic Rescue paramedic was arrested after a woman reported he sexually assaulted her when he responded to a medical call at her home in Baden.

Baden police charged Anthony Barnes, 28, of 527 11th Ave., New Brighton, with indecent assault and indecent exposure.

The woman reported Saturday night that she has been sexually assaulted by Barnes after she called 911 to have an ambulance respond to help her boyfriend who was having an anxiety attack. According to a police report, after tending to the woman’s boyfriend Barnes asked her to return to the ambulance to retrieve information.

The woman told police once she was inside the ambulance Barnes told her she was attractive, made a sexual comment, exposed himself to her and placed her hand on his genitals, the report said. The report said Barnes then pushed the woman onto a gurney, touched her breasts and attempted to have her perform oral sex on him.

The woman told police she asked Barnes to let her out of the ambulance several times and then had an anxiety attack before she was able to get out of the ambulance.

Barnes was interviewed by police and admitted to some of what the woman reported, but told police he could not recall other details, the report said. He said the woman had made statements to him that he perceived as sexual advances, the report said.

Barnes was taken to the Beaver County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond, according to online court records. He is scheduled for a Feb. 24 preliminary hearing.
