Ill. bus crash injures dozen students

3 students have broken legs, 2 of those will need to have surgery

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ill. — Two students remained hospitalized after a school bus rear-ended a semi on Interstate 55 in Montgomery County.

Michael Sutton, Superintendent of Highland Schools, said on Tuesday morning that three students have broken legs and two of the three students will have to have surgery. One of the students was released Tuesday morning.

Illinois State Police said southbound Interstate 55 reopened at mile marker 60, near Litchfield at 11:00 Monday night.
