GUILFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was flown to a hospital for treatment today after the truck he was driving crashed into some trees along the 3300 block of Rocky Mountain Road in Guilford Township.

Chief Larry Freeman of South Mountain Fire Company confirmed that an unconscious man had to be cut out of the white Chevrolet Colorado pickup. The driver and sole occupant of the truck had suffered apparently serious injuries. Responders cut both doors and the roof off of the truck to get him out.

Once removed, the injured man was taken by ambulance to the nearby South Mountain Restoration Center where members of Mont Alto Fire Company had prepared a landing zone. A LifeNet helicopter arrived and flew him to York Hospital, Freeman said.

The crash took place along a winding, wooded portion of Pa. 233 between U.S. 30 and Mont Alto. Responders were called there at 4:18 p.m., according to Franklin County Dispatch. Freeman said the crash was reported by another driver who witnessed it and called 911 on a cell phone.

Troopers with Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg, investigated. The driver’s name has not yet been released.

The male driver of a Chevrolet Colorado pickup had to be extricated and was flown to York Hospital Monday following a crash in the 3300 block of Rocky Mountain Road, Guilford Twp.
