NOVATO, Calif. — Five people were injured in a two-car collision Sunday on Highway 37 between Highway 101 and Atherton Avenue in Novato.

The crash took place around 1:24 p.m. when a white Prius struck a gray Honda. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Novato Fire District paramedics transported two elderly people with serious injuries, including lower extremity bone fractures, and three other people with moderate injuries, to Marin General Hospital, said Battalion Chief Jeff Veliquette of the Novato Fire District.
