CINCINNATI, Ohio — Four family members, including a young child, suffered just minor injuries Tuesday when their car was hit by a train and dragged about 1,000 feet along the tracks, reports say.
Matt Flagler, assistant fire chief with the Cincinnati Fire Department, tells WXIX Channel 19 that it was a miracle that the four people inside the car were not more seriously injured.
WCPO Channel 9 reports rescue workers had difficulty reaching the car after it had been hit by the train. The crew on the train radioed rescue workers and said the people in the car were OK.
“They were able to get out of the vehicle on their own and we helped them through the woods to some ambulances nearby,” Flagler tells WXIX.
Investigators have not said what led to the collision, WLWT Channel 5 reports.
