ESSEX COUNTY, Va. — Crews from multiple agencies rescued a 16-year-old boy on Sunday after he fell down a well at least 30 feet deep, WTVR reported.
The Tappahannock-Essex Volunteer Fire Department and Tappahannock Rescue Squad were called to the scene just before 4 p.m. The boy was partly submerged in water.
A Hanover Fire-EMS’ Technical Rescue Team member was lowered into the well.

Hanover Fire-EMS said on Facebook that Chesterfield Fire and EMS assisted and coordinated a backup plan with the Hanover crew.
The Hanover crewmember and the boy were successfully hoisted up, and the teen was assessed by crewmembers with Life Evac. The patient was in stable condition when he was transported.
The Hanover Fire-EMS Department credits training and preparation for the success.
