DES MOINES, Iowa — Members of MercyOne Air Med donated both their blood and their time during a joint event across the state collecting blood donations in coordination with LifeServe Blood Center, a nonprofit community blood center, according to a company press release.

At donation points in Des Moines, Mason City and Sioux City, crews collected 234 units of blood, which the agency said will impact and save 702 lives.

“We are so thankful to the MercyOne team for hosting these lifesaving blood drives throughout our communities and to the generous blood donors who rolled up their sleeves,” said Danielle West, Director of PR and Marketing at LifeServe Blood Center. “The blood donations collected at this blood drive are critical to patient care in the communities we serve.”
