Former EMT pleads guilty to shaken-baby case

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — A former EMT who had been accused of seriously injuring his then 6-month-old son by shaking him has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of fourth-degree child neglect.

Lawrence Biehler, 34, of Wharton, had faced a charge of second-degree child endangerment, which was reduced, along with two charges of aggravated assault, which are to be dismissed under his plea agreement with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Biehler had been accused of causing his son’s head and eye injuries during the Feb. 10, 2012 incident.
